Corporate Responsibility in the Electronics Industry Supply Chain

 

Corporate Responsibility in the Electronics Industry Supply Chain provides an insight into corporate responsibility and focuses on empowering participants with the right mindset and tools required to meet the corporate responsibility challenges within the electronic industry supply chain.

The audience for this course is Supply Chain / Procurement Managers in the electronicsindustry supply chain. The training is available in English and Simplified Chinese.

There are two modules in this course:

  • Module 1 - Understanding Corporate Responsibility
  • Module 2 - Corporate Responsibility and Supply Chain Management

After completing this course, a participant should be able to:

  • Define corporate responsibility
  • Describe the business case for corporate responsibility

 

Module 1: Understanding Corporate Responsibility

Irresponsible business practices lead to environmental damage, lapses in ethical standards and human suffering resulting from poor and unsafe working conditions. Corporate responsibility is the businessresponse to these social challenges. This module covers how to support a company in responding to the corporate responsibility challenges in the context of the electronics industry supply chain.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Define corporate responsibility
  • Clarify common myths about corporate responsibility
  • Identify the key aspects of corporate responsibility
  • Describe the business case for corporate responsibility
  • Identify examples of corporate responsibility initiatives by companies in the electronics industry
  • Identify the benefits of a collaborative approach to corporate responsibility

 

Module 2: Corporate Responsibility and Supply Chain Management

Supply chain managers play a key role in implementing corporate responsibility in the electronics industry supply chain. By engaging effectively with suppliers, supply chain managers can provide them the necessary support for improving their social, ethical and environmental performance.

After completing this module, a learner should be able to:

  • Describe the phases in the Supplier Engagement Model
  • Identify ways of addressing challenges in the Supplier Engagement Model
  • Identify examples of business benefits to suppliers from corporate responsibility practices
