Corporate Responsibility Awareness for Suppliers

Corporate Responsibility Awareness for Suppliers introduces the concept of corporate responsibility and describes the potential benefits of adopting a corporate responsibility-driven approach. Additionally, the course describes industry-recognized standards and outlines the key elements of a corporate responsibility management system.

The audience for this training is management at supplier facilities who are new to Corporate Responsibility. The training is available in English and Simplified Chinese.

The course is divided into three modules:

  • Module 1: Introduction to Corporate Responsibility
  • Module 2: Industry Standards and Corporate Responsibility Implementation and
  • Module 3: Corporate Responsibility Management System

After completing this training, a participant should be able to:

  • Define corporate responsibility
  • Understand stakeholder expectations and identify the benefits of a corporate responsibility-driven approach
  • Describe industry standards
  • Identify the key elements of an effective corporate responsibility management system and
  • Recognize the roles and responsibilities for successful corporate responsibility implementation

 

Module 1: Introduction to Corporate Responsibility

Businesses today are required to ensure that their core operations reflect the changing expectations of society. In addition, companies must realize that a responsible business approach can help them to positively influence their business partners’ sourcing decisions. Embracing corporate responsibility includes all this and more!

After completing this module, a learner should be able to:

  • Define corporate responsibility
  • Describe the importance of and need for corporate responsibility
  • Describe their role with respect to corporate responsibility
  • Recognize stakeholders' expectations of businesses and
  • Identify the potential benefits of meeting stakeholders' corporate responsibility expectations

 

Module 2: Industry Standards and Corporate Responsibility Implementation

Module 2 helps the learner discover how it a company can implement corporate responsibility principles using internationally-recognized industry standards.

After completing this module, a learner should be able to:

  • Describe industry standards associated with corporate responsibility
  • Plan for implementation of corporate responsibility in their company operations
  • Describe the significance and benefits of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition or EICC Validated Audit Process and
  • Prepare for a corporate responsibility audit of their facility

 

Module 3: Corporate Responsibility Management System

Based on the framework provided by industry standards and the EICC Code of Conduct, the next step is to develop a sound management system to address each element identified in the supplier principles.

After completing this module, a learner should be able to:

  • Define a management system
  • Identify the key elements of an effective management system
  • Identify the corporate responsibility management system requirements related to each stage of the Plan-Do-Check-Act or PDCA cycle and
  • Recognize roles and responsibilities associated with successful implementation of a corporate responsibility management system
